Vizient & RISCS Pilot Program to Improve Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Resilience
A joint pilot program aimed at enhancing assurance of pharmaceutical supply. Once implemented, the program would use a rating system to enable the evaluation of critical aspects of a resilient supply chain and provide increased transparency.
The goal of Project PROTECT is to partner with the pharmaceutical supply chain to protect essential medicines vulnerable to drug shortage. The project aims to bolster the supply chain by increasing production of vulnerable medicine during times of shortage.

Between March 6 and April 4, 2019, the Vizient® Drug Shortages Task Force conducted its inaugural member survey, to identify and quantify the labor-related operational and financial impact of drug shortages on member health systems and hospitals.
